S'oL is the Norse Goddess of the sun. She is the sister of M'ani, God of the moon. S'ol drives a chariot across the sky each day, pulled by the two horses Alsvidr ("all swift") and Arvakr ("early riser"). She is chased by a wolf named Sk"oll, and her brother M'ani is chased by another wolf, Hati. It is said that at Ragnar"ok (the battle at the end of the world) Sk"oll and Hati will catch their prey, and S'ol will be replaced by her daughter.
