Agni is a Hindu deity, one of the most important of the Vedic gods. He is the god of fire and the acceptor of sacrifices. The sacrifices made to Agni go to the deities because Agni is a messenger from and to the other gods. He is ever-young, because the fire is re-lit every day, and also immortal. Agni, the Vedic god of fire who presides over the earth, has made the transition into the Hindu pantheon of gods, without losing his importance. With Vayu and Indra, who presided over the air and sky, he is one of the supreme gods in the Rig Veda. The link between heaven and earth, he is associated with Vedic sacrifice, taking offerings to the other world in the fire. His vehicle is the ram.

IN MYTH, MILK WAS HOLY FOOD THAT FLOWED FROM THE BREASTS OF MOTHER GODDESSES, AND THE "MAGUEY" GODDESS WAS SAID TO HAVE A HUNDRED BREASTS THAT EMITTED A MILKY SAP; THEREFORE, SHE COULD FEED MANY OF HER PEOPLE.

THE PULQUE DRINK FROM THE "MAGUEY" PLANT WAS INTOXICATING. THIS DRINK WAS SACRED TO THE AZTECS AND USED IN MANY RITUALS. THE "MAGUEY "PLANT WAS SPINY, AND PRIESTS WOULD USE THESE SPINES TO COMMIT RITUAL SUICIDE.

AND IN THIS TEMPLE, THEY HELD AN ANNUAL HARVEST FESTIVAL IN HER HONOR; THE MOST QUALITY PRODUCE WAS DEDICATED TO HER AT THIS TIME.
