HINA-PUKU'AI is the Hawaiian Goddess of food plants. She is one of the many forms of the Great Goddess Hina, and her name means "Hina gathering vegetable food." Hina-puku'ai had a special gourd in which she kept food. One day, she was lured away from her home by a local chief, and she spilled all the food out of her gourd.
