He is the element and god of fire. He protects mankind from the darkness and is largely seen as a good force. It is he who carries burnt offerings to the other gods in heaven. But he also has a destructive side. When born he turned both parents into ashes. He also eats or cremates the body on the pyre. It is Angi who helps dead souls by purifying them after death.
