NEITH is the most ancient of Egyptian Goddesses. She rules over war and weaponry, weaving, and is seen as the creator of both Gods and humans. She is "the eldest, mother of the gods, who illuminated the first face." It was said that Neith wove the world on her loom. Her emblems of a bow and crossed arrows show her status as a a warrior Goddess; hunters also asked her blessing on their weapons. Neith's rule over weaving led her to a function in the underworld as well--she provided the bandages and shrouds used in mummification. She was most often depicted in human form, but could also take the form of a cow (symbolizing the nursing mother) or a serpent (representing a protector of the king). Epithets associated with Neith include "MISTRESS OF THE BOW", "RULER OF ARROWS", "THE GREAT COW", "THE GREAT FLOOD", "THE NURSE OF CROCODILES", and "MISTRESS OF MENDES".

in Nubia was dedicated to Mandulis which was a Nubian form of Horus. A cult dedicated to Mandulis can also be found in Egypt, at Philae. Mandulis was often depicted wearing an elaborate headdress of ram's horns, cobras and plumes surmounted by sun discs. He was sometimes shown in the form of a hawk, but wearing a human head.

Arianrhod is a Welsh Goddess whose name means "Silver Wheel" or "Silver Circle". She is the goddess of the moon, fate, and fertility. She ruled over the stars and lived in an astral palace called Caer Arianrhod: this is also known as the constellation Corona Borealis. It never sets below the horizon. She was the daughter of Don and lived in Her palace with Her husband, Nwyvre, and although She is said to be a virgin goddess, they had two sons--Llew and Dylan. What is interesting here is that as with many of the goddesses and tales of old, sexual behavior had nothing to do with the concept of virginity.
Caer Arianrhod was the destination of the souls of the dead...where they resided between their incarnations. Arianrhod's "Silver Wheel" is the turning wheel of fate. It has also been viewed as the Divine spinning wheel, the wheel which weaves the web of destiny. She is called upon to help us with our past life memories. It is unfortunate for us that much of Her early history has been lost, but we do know that in later myths, She was relegated to the role of a sorceress...perhaps this was a result of the rise of patricarchy. Legend also has it that Caer Arianrhod is supposed to lioe submerged in Caernarvon Bay and is still remembered to this day.
