IT WAS ON THIS DATE, JULY 8TH, THE "VITULATIO" WAS CELEBRATED, A FESTIVAL IN HONOR OF "VITULA",THE ROMAN DEITY PRESIDED OVER FESTIVALS AND REJOICINGS. SHE WAS THE GODDESS OF JUBILATION, MIRTH, LIFE, AND VICTORY, IN PARTICULAR THE JOY WHICH FOLLOWS A MILITARY VICTORY. IT IS A DAY OF JOY AND CELEBRATION.

ON THIS DAY SHE RECEIVED THE FIRST FRUITS OF THE EARTH WITH GAVE LIFE, AND OF COURSE, MUSIC WAS AN INTEGRAL PART OF THE CELEBRATIONS, AND HER NAME EVENTUALLY BECAME THE MODERN DAY NAMES OF INSTRUMENTS SUCH AS THE VIOLIN AND THE FIDDLE FROM THE LATIN WORD VITULARIA WHICH MEANS CELEBRATE JOYFULLY. CHANTING AND SINGING FOR JOY AND THE FRUITS OF THE EARTH WERE OFFERED BY THE PRIESTS TO THE GODDESS. CHANTING AND SINGING FOR JOY AND THE FRUITS OF THE EARTH WERE OFFERED BY THE PRIESTS TO THE GODDESS.

Cernunnos (also Cernenus) is a Celtic god whose representations were widespread in the ancient Celtic lands of western Europe. Cernunnos is associated with horned male animals, especially stags and the ram-horned snake; this and other attributes associate him with produce and fertility. Everything known about this deity comes from two inscriptions from France and one from Germany.

NINKASI is the Sumerian Goddess of beer. The daughter of Enki and Ninhursag, she was one of the eight children born to heal Enki's wounds. A clay tablet from 1800 BCE bears a "Hymn to Ninkasi", which includes an ancient recipe for beer. Ninkasi brews beer each day for the Gods. Her name means "the lady who fills the mouth."
