IN HINDU MYTHOLOGY, "ADITI "WAS THE ANCIENT GODDESS OF THE BOUNDLESS SKY. HER NAME MEANS "FREE FROM BONDS" OR "LIMITLESS". SHE IS THE CONSCIOUSNESS OF ALL LIVING THINGS, THE WOMB OF SPACE AND THE FEMININE FORM OF BRAHMA. ALL OF THE HEAVENLY BODIES ARE BORN FROM HER. SHE WAS REVERED AS THE MOTHER FIGURE WHO GAVE BIRTH TO ALL OF THE MAJOR GODS IN THE VEDAS. SHE IS THE GODDESS OF SPACE AND OF THE PAST, PRESENT, AND FUTURE.
ALTHOUGH SHE IS MENTIONED ALMOST 80 TIMES IN THE VEDA, IT IS DIFFICULT TO GAIN A CLEAR PICTURE OF HER NATURE. IN FACT, THE MOST OUTSTANDING ATTRIBUTE OF "ADITI "IS HER MOTHERHOOD. AS THE "MOTHER" OF THE GODS, SHE IS, THEREFORE, THE MOST IMPORTANT FIGURE IN THE CELESTIAL WORLD. AND, AS THE "MOTHER", IT IS SHE WHO GRANTS WEALTH, SECURITY AND PROSPERITY. "ADITI" IS SOMETIMES ASSOCIATED WITH A COW AND HER MILK AND IS SOMETIMES DEPICTED IN THE GUISE OF A COW. SHE IS ALSO SAID TO POSSESS THE POWERS TO FREE THE ONE WHO PETITIONS HER FOR HELP IN CASE OF SICKNESS AND SUFFERING FROM THE CONSEQUENCES OF SIN AND IS,THEREFORE,CALLED THE SUPPORTER OF ALL CREATURES.
Some say that "Aditi" is always with us even though She cannot be seen, but, should an apocalypse occur, She will make Herself fully visible. It is then that She will gather and wrap all of Her children in Her eternal cloak and protect us for all of eternity.

In Greek mythology, Erebus, or Erebos was a primordial god, personification of darkness, offspring of Chaos alone. He was brother of Nyx and father of Aether by himself and, with Nyx, Hemera, Moros, Charon, Eros and the Keres. According to some later legends, Erebus was part of Hades, the underworld. It was where the dead had to pass immediately after dying. After Charon ferried them across the river Acheron, they entered Tartarus, the underworld proper. Erebus was often used as a synonym for Hades, the Greek god of the underworld. Also, Erebus was the name of the gloomy space through which souls passed on their way to Hades. In pre-Homeric mythology, he formed an incestuous liaison with his mother to create the first elements of the cosmos, Aether (light) and Hemera (day).

A FLOWER QUEEN AND HATER OF MARRIAGE, ROSMERTA WAS ALSO THE QUEEN OF DEATH. A CELTIC GODDESS OF FERTILITY AND WEALTH, WHOSE CULT WAS WIDELY SPREAD IN NORTHEAST GAUL. ROSMERTA WAS THE CONSORT OF ESUS, WHO WAS IDENTIFIED WITH THE ROMAN MERCURY. HER ATTRIBUTES ARE A CORNUCOPIA AND A STICK WITH TWO SNAKES.
WHILE ROSMERTA APPEARS WITH "MERCURY" IN VARIOUS GUISES THROUGHOUT GAUL AND BRITAIN, SHE HAS ALSO BEEN LINKED WITH LUGH, AND IN IRELAND, WAS WORSHIPPED ALONG WITH HIM DURING THE 30 DAY LUGHNASADH MIDSUMMER FESTIVAL. IN THIS CASE, SHE WAS LINKED TO THE CONCEPT OF SOVEREIGNTY. DURING THE CEREMONIES, A RITUAL DRINK SERVED BY THE GODDESS OF THE LAND (A ROLE PLAYED BY A PRIESTESS OR A CHIEFTAIN'S CONSORT) WAS SHARED AND THIS BOUND ALL OF THE PARTICIPANTS TO THEIR LAND, THEIR RULER, AND TO EACH OTHER. ROSMERTA WAS THE DIVINE KEEPER OF THE DRINK OF SOVEREIGNTY, WHILE THE SPEAR-WIELDING "MERCURY" WAS THE ARCHETYPE OF ALL RULERS, THE OTHERWORLDLY PROTECTOR OF THE EARTHLY KING.
