"YHI" IS THE GODDESS OF CREATION AND LIGHT, A SUN DEITY WHO LIVED IN "DREAMTIME "OF THE AUSTRALIAN ABORIGINES. IT WAS SHE WHO BROUGHT LIGHT INTO THE DARKNESS. ACCORDING TO LEGEND, IN THE BEGINNING, THE EARTH, CREATED BY THE ALL-FATHER, "BAIAME", NEEDED NEEDED LIGHT AND WARMTH IN ORDER FOR LIFE TO GROW AND BE NURTURED. AND THEN, SOMEWHERE IN THE IMMENSITY OF SPACE THE GREAT GODDESS, "YHI," EMERGED FROM HER" DREAMTIME "SLEEP, AND WHEN SHE OPENED HER EYES, LIGHT FELL UPON EARTH. RELEASING ALL OF ITS CREATURES FROM THE PRISON OF THEIR SLEEP.

"YHI" AND "BIAME" WORKED TOGETHER IN THE CREATION OF HUMANKIND. SHE PROCEEDED TO WALK THE EARTH AND FOLIAGE SPROUTED WHERE SHE STEPPED. SOON THE WHOLE WORLD WAS COVERED WITH PLANTS, TREES, FRUITS, AND FLOWERS. SHE ENTERED THE DARK CAVES AND TURNED THE MISTY SHAPES INTO A THRONG OF FLYING INSECTS AND THAWED THE BLOCKS OF ICE AND OUT OF THEM CAME ALL THE FISH AND REPTILES...AND ALL OF THE ANIMALS LOVED HER.

BUT "YHI" HAD NEVER PLANNED TO STAY ON EARTH. SHE WAS GOING BACK TO THE HEAVENS WHERE SHE COULD SHINE FOR THE ENTIRE WORLD. AND THAT NIGHT, WHEN DARKNESS FELL, THEY ALL CRIED; BUT, THE NEXT MORNING, WHEN "YHI "SAILED THROUGH THE SKY AGAIN, HER GOLDEN LIGHT FLOODED THE WORLD. GODDESS "YHI" HAD RETURNED AS PROMISED, AND THEY UNDERSTOOD THAT DAY WOULD ALWAYS SUCCEED NIGHT.

"YHI TEACHES US THAT THE BALANCE OF LIGHT AND DARK IS A NATURAL OCCURRENCE. NIGHT INTO DAY....DAY INTO NIGHT. "IN ORDER TO ATTAIN HAPPINESS, ENLIGHTENMENT, FULFILLMENT, OR ANY OTHER STATE OF HIGHER BEING, YOU NEED TO LEARN TO EMBRACE THE LIGHT AND THE DARKNESS WITHIN YOURSELF."
