" ATAHENSIC" IS THE SKY GODDESS OF THE IROQUOIS AND THE HURON. SHE WAS THE FAIREST OF ALL OF THE DAUGHTERS OF THE AIR AND BEAUTIFUL AS THE SUN. HER NAME MEANS MOTHER BREATH OF WIND. SHE IS ASSOCIATED WITH MARRIAGE, CHILDBIRTH, AND FEMININE CRAFTS. ACCORDING TO LEGEND, SHE FELL TO THE EARTH AFTER LOOSING HER INNOCENCE AND WAS SAVED BY THE BIRDS WHO CARRIED HER DOWN ON THEIR WINGS.

IT IS SAID THAT ATAHENSIC DIED DURING CHILDBIRTH AND FROM HER BODY SHE MADE THE MOON AND THE SUN, WHICH WERE SET IN THE SKY BY HER HUSBAND, MASTER OF WINDS. SHE IS ASSOCIATED WITH MARRIAGE, CHILDBIRTH, AND FEMININE CRAFTS.
