SHE WAS A MOON GODDESS WHO WEAVES DREAMS AND WAS OFTEN DEPICTED AS AN OWL. IN SOME STORIES, IT IS SAID THAT SHE PURSUED "NEMTEREQUETEBA", BUT HE TURNED HER INTO THE OWL OR THE MOON. IN YET OTHER STORIES, HOWEVER, HER TRANSFORMATION IS ATTRIBUTED TO "BOCHICA", THE CREATOR OF MORALS. SHE TRIED TO DESTROY HIS FOLLOWERS BY UNLEASHING A GREAT FLOOD UPON THEM, AND THEN DISAPPEARED SOMEWHERE IN THE WEST WHERE SHE LEFT HER FOOTPRINTS ON THE ROCKS. SOME LEGENDS SAY THAT SHE WAS HURLED INTO SKY BY "BOCHICA" AND TURNED INTO THE MOON.
