THERE ARE SEVERAL LEGENDS ABOUT THE PEYOTE, AND THE FOLLOWING COMES FROM THE KIOWA INDIANS OF NORTH AMERICA. IN THEIR MYTHOLOGY, "PEYOTE WOMAN "IS THE GIRL TO WHOM PEYOTE, WHICH THEY CALLED CALLED "ASENI", "FIRST APPEARED AND TAUGHT THE KIOWA HOW TO USE IT. PEYOTE BECAME AN INTRICATE PART OF THEIR RELIGIOUS EXPERIENCE.
ACCORDING TO THE LEGEND, PEYOTE WOMAN HAD TWO BROTHERS DID NOT RETURN FROM A WAR THAT THE KIOWA HAD BEEN FIGHTING FAR TO THE SOUTH; SHE BELIEVED THAT HER BROTHERS WERE DEAD AND WENT INTO THE HILLS TO MOURN THEM. FINALLY, WORN OUT WITH GRIEF AND CRYING, SHE WAS TOO TIRED TO RETURN TO THE CAMP THAT NIGHT LAY DOWN TO SLEEP ON THE GROUND.
IN HER DREAMS, "ASENI", THE SPIRIT OF PEYOTE, CAME TO HER AND TOLD HER THAT HER BROTHERS WERE INDEED STILL ALIVE AND THAT IN THE MORNING WHEN SHE AWOKE, SHE WOULD FIND A PLANT UNDERNEATH HER HEAD THAT WOULD RESTORE THEM TO HER. AND SO IT WAS THAT WHEN MORNING CAME, SHE AROSE AND LOOKED TO WHERE SHE HAD BEEN SLEEPING AND JUST AS HER DREAM HAD FORETOLD, SHE FOUND THE PEYOTE PLANT.
SHE TOOK THE PEYOTE BACK TO CAMP, SHOWED IT TO THE TRIBAL SHAMANS, AND TOLD THEM OF HER VISION AND THE INSTRUCTIONS THE PEYOTE SPIRIT HAD GIVEN HER. THE SHAMANS THEN SAID PRAYERS AND SANG SONGS AND ATE THE PEYOTE WHICH HAD MIRACULOUSLY INCREASED BEFORE THEIR EYES. AFTER THEY TOOK IT, THEY SAW A VISION IN WHICH THE TWO YOUNG WARRIORS WERE WANDERING ON FOOT IN THE SIERRA MADRE. A SEARCH PARTY WAS IMMEDIATELY ORGANIZED AND AFTER SEARCHING FOR MANY DAYS THROUGH ENEMY TERRITORY, THE YOUNG MEN WERE FOUND AND BROUGHT BACK TO THEIR PEOPLE.

In Lords incarnation as Lord Koorma,the most dearest and beautifull form,Lord Koorma as a very huge tortoise form.Lord has came up by putting the Mandara Mountains in his back,and saved the demi gods and asuras to churn the mandara mountains in the milky ocean.
At a time,the devas became powerless and indra lost his simhasana,and were very fearfull of asuras who r powerfull.All the devas including indra went to Lord Vishnu,prayed him,Oh Lord of cosmic evolution,ur the head of all gods,all the devas r dependant on u,prayed to help them against asuras.Lord Vishnu gave a suggestion that to get out from the problem completely,they need to get amruta,which can be obtained by churning the Mandara mountains in the milk of ocean,where the Mandara mountains as the churn stick and king of snakes vasuki as a rope,for that they need to gather the forces from the asuras and as well as devas,asuras accepting for gathering the forces to get amruta.Garuda has lifted the mountain Mandara to the milk ocean.Devas said that they would catch head for churning,as asuras thought catching tail was shamefull,asuras caught the head where they couldn't recognise that powerfull fumes of poison evolves from mouth of vasuki,and devas very intelligently catched tail of the snake for churning the mountain Mandara.
The mountain Mandara began to sink in the milky ocean,the devas and asuras were unhappy,that the mountain Mandara was sinked and prayed for help of Lord Vishnu.Lord Vishnu incarnated as Lord Koorma a huge tortoise,and went into Milky Ocean and has put the Mountain Mandara at his back and had come up.So that the devas and asuras were happy and started churning the Milky Ocean,and were nolonger could not churn,and recognising this,Lord Vishnu being at the top of mountain churned the Milky Ocean,and as all the dissoluted impurities came as HalaHala,a poison from the ocean.This time the devas and asuras had seeked the help from Lord Shiva,to save from the very powerfull poison HalaHala coming out of Milky Ocean,and Lord Shiva has swallowed the poison,and devas and asuras started churning and many precious and valuables r coming out of Milky Ocean.Goddess Lakshmi had come out of milky ocean and had been taken place in the heart of Lord Vishnu,and at last the amruta in a vessel has come out,so the asuras thinking that amruta will not be given to them and took the vessel and went away.
So Lord Vishnu has incarnated as a Mohini a very beautifull female,asuras being attracted by Mohini's beautiness and she had given a sign to asuras and taken the amruta vessel and she had told that she would distribute the amruta to devas and asuras,and Mohini has given the amruta to devas and Rahu being an asura joined in devas and Lord Vishnu recognising it,has removed his head before the amruta goes into his neck by his very powerfull weapon sudarshana chakra,and asuras unhappily returned back.By the most beautifull form as Lord Koorma,is an incarnation of Lord Vishnu.

SHE WAS EXALTED IN "TENOCHTITLAN" AND "TETZCOCO," AND THROUGHOUT THE VALLEY OF MEXICO. THE POWERFUL CITY OF "XOCHIMILCO", IN THE SOUTHERN PART OF THE BASIN, WAS DEVOTED TO HER CULT, AND THE "GARDENS OF XOCHIMILCO", SOUTH OF "CIUDAD DE MEXICO," ARE NAMED AFTER HER.
EVERY EIGHT YEARS A FEAST WAS HELD IN HER HONOR IN WHICH THE CELEBRANTS WORE ANIMAL AND FLOWERS MASKS.

ANAT is the Semitic Goddess of war, savagery, and fertility. She, along with her sisters Astarte and Asherah, was known by various names throughout the ancient Mesopotamian area, and is sometimes confused with her sisters. She is a daughter of El, consort of Baal. She is often referred to as a virgin, but the meaning here is more "unmarried" than "unsexual". She is quite ruthless and routinely slays Baal's enemies. During one victory feast, she slipped out to slaughter the inhabitants of two neighboring towns. After making a belt of their heads and hands, she made a peace offering and then returned to the feast.
In another myth, Anat asks El to allow Baal to build a proper palace, but El refuses. Anat threatens El, and then enlists the aid of her sister Astarte, who persuades El to allow the palace. When Baal is killed by Mot, God of Death, Anat hunts down Mot and cuts his body into pieces. Anat is said to have killed various monsters who were enemies of Baal, including Yamm, a seven-headed serpent, and Arsh, a sea monster.
Even though her warrior aspects are often emphasized, Anat was also a Goddess of fertility and sexuality. In the "Epic of Ba'al", she is called upon to "Remove from the earth war, Set in the dust love; Pour peace amidst the earth, Tranquility amidst the fields."
Her many names come from the fact that she was worshipped throughout the ancient Near East. She is known as 'NT (pronounced Anat), 'ANAT, 'ANATH, 'ANATU, or 'ANATA in Ugaritic; ANTA or ANTU in Akkadian; and ANANT, ANIT, ANTI, or ANTIT in Egyptian. Her epithets include:
